The HSM Host interface can be configured using the Console to emulate a number of types of data communications equipment and control equipment. At the end of the configuration, the user is given the option to save the host interface settings to a Smartcard.
To configure the Host port, set the HSM into the offline state (insert the key in one of the KEY switches on the front panel and rotate it a half turn), with power applied and the Console terminal connected.
The Console displays:
HSM going OFFLINE, press Reset to go Online.
Offline>
Enter CH <Return> (Configure Host) to initiate the set-up dialogue. Examples of the various configurations are given below. User inputs are shown underlined. The CH command can also be used while the HSM is in the secure state.
